Steve started his career at ING Barings in January 1996 after completing his Masters Degree at Reading University's ICMA centre. In June 1998 he joined Gen Re Securities, Warren Buffett's securities trading vehicle and spent five years gaining a thorough and in-depth knowledge of vanilla and exotic equity derivatives and in designing and implementing new technologies. Steve moved to Royal Bank of Canada in 2003 where he managed the product control group for the Equity Derivative & Alternative Asset desks and introduced and implemented Misys Sophis Risqué along with key business programme management solutions.
In 2004 Steve joined Nomura International Plc and established himself as a fund derivatives trader within Equity Derivatives having spent a year setting up the business reporting and control environment for the group and implementing Misys Sophis Risqué. He later joined the London subsidiary of First New York Securities, Infinity Capital Markets, where he was the Chief Operating Officer and was instrumental in driving corporate change through technology and adding new business lines.
In 2011 Steve joined Aldersgate Investment Managers as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer where he was responsible for the overall day to day management of the firm including risk, project management, new business, infrastructure and IT, operations and finance, regulation and compliance and all legal aspects of the firm.
Steve is highly regarded as one of the most experienced financial service managers by his colleagues and peers and a Misys FusionCapital (Sophis Risqué) & Misys FusionInvest (Sophis Value) expert having been in charge of numerous global rollouts.
